CS0246: The type or namespace name 'FlickrNet' could not be found

Hi,

I know this error should just be a matter of ensuring that the namespace has been added to the list in the code behind file, which I have done and checked over and over again!

Here is the page I am trying to run: http://www.testing.eshphotography.com.au/Esh2009/Weddings.aspx

This page runs fine on my localhost server, but throws the namespace error when I try to run it on the remote server. I have been through the http://blogs.msdn.com/coding4fun/archive/2006/11/22/1126978.aspx (coding for fun) tutorial. This has not helped.

My web.config file includes all the necessary bits:

<section name="flickrNet" type="FlickrNet.FlickrConfigurationManager,FlickrNet" />

<flickrNet apiKey="*******" secret="*******" cacheDisabled="true"></flickrNet>

    <appSettings>
        <add key="UserId" value="********" />
    </appSettings>

The FlickrNet.dll is in the bin directory and in the root.

I am at a loss as to what the issue is.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

De

Hi

If the FlickrNet.dll is in your bin directory then it might be likely that the parent directory is not set up as an Application in IIS. To do this click the "Create" button on the Virtual DIrectory property page.

If you do not have control over IIS then you can check if this is the issue by copying the code up a directory, rather than being in /Esh2009/Weddings.aspx and /Esh2009/bin/FlickrNet.dll they are in /Weddings.aspx and /bin/FlickrNet.dll.

I hope this helps.

In fact - just copying the FlickrNet.dll to /bin might solve the problem, although the web.config would have to be in the root directory as well.
